Hello, hickory golfers!
Yesterday we had our first Kanto Hickory Monthly Meeting at Hirakawa CC in Chiba, Japan. In addition to the individual competition, there was also a gachinko competition where the players were divided into the East and West Forces and picked the best score for each hole in the scratch competition. During the course of the match, a brilliant chip-in eagle by Mr Okubo of the West team temporarily turned the tables, but the East team then won with a series of birdies! It was a hotter battle than the temperature.
The winner of the individual competition was Kodama-san, who was playing hickory golf for the first time. A new star was born in the hickory world. The best gross score was the same score of 79 by Masters Champion Mr Nakase and the resurgent Mr Takazawa.
This time, the players were dressed casually in half-pants, which also made for a fun atmosphere. The next round is planned for September!
The following are the most recent hickory golf events.
